The most heartbreaking thing I hear as a flower preservation artist is "I wish I would've known about this when I got married [insert number of years] ago!"
The second most heartbreaking thing is "my bridal bouquet is sitting in an old shoe box covered in dust and crumbling."
My biggest goal as a flower preservation artist is to help current and future brides be informed that Yes! you can absolutely preserve your bouquet, and no, it doesn't have to sit
in a shoe box for the rest of your life! Flower preservation is such a sentimental and cherished gift, and every bride should have the ability to decide if it's right for them or not.
Here's a few tips on how to tell if bouquet preservation is right for you!
You absolutely love florals.
You're the person that knew the exact flowers and why you wanted them in your bouquet, or you're the type that swoons over every wildflower, flower stand, and flower bouquet you've ever received. You have spent a not insignificant amount of time researching and picking the right florist for you. Maybe you have a flower tattoo or two.
You celebrate with flowers.
Friends and family know it's not a true celebration without a bouquet in hand. No matter if it's graduations, big performances, birthdays, holidays, or "just because" they can expect to see a bouquet there to communicate that extra special message of love.
You're a sentimental person.
You enjoy reliving the moment over and over again. The smallest reminders of the past send you straight back to some of your most tender moments in life. You find yourself easily getting emotionally attached to people, places, and things (aka your wedding florals).
You love keepsakes.
You're spending time daydreaming about keepsakes you can save from your big day. In terms of getting to cherish the physical items that were truly there on your big day, there are only a few. A cake topper, your photos, your guest book, wedding bands, and of course your spouse! That's why preserving your wedding bouquet is such a special service that allows you to take one more special moment from your big day.
Your eco conscious.
It might seem a little wacky at first, but preserving your bouquet, rather than tossing them into the trash, is actually eco-friendly. Not only will you adorn your home with a beautiful piece of art, but you'll help out Mother Earth, too.
If any of these sound like you, it might be time to research flower preservation artists! And of course we'd love to hear from you, too. Feel free to submit an inquiry here.
